voice of Jonathan Mills, who still spoke Brooks' words. The lecture mostly focused on the increasing threat of fascism, which, according to Brooks and Mill, is fueled by a massive increase of an alienated cultural periphery.31 Exchange 'Exchange' is a consequence of the confrontation; artists from different fields en gaged in discussions and exchanged artistic ideas with each other. This resulted in mutual inspiration leading to new works. A clear demonstration of this can be found in a quote from Bart Lootsma in the evaluation booklet of Forum 1980, in which he writes about his experience at the workshop of Bernard Tschumi. He explains how Tschumi was willing to talk about his work and how he did this in a very polemical way. To demonstrate the latter, Lootsma gives us an example of a remark by Tschumi against an architect who had a hard time considering Tschumi's work as architecture: 'architects do not build - they design!' This ex ample demonstrates the ground-breaking goal of Forum: the exchange of ideas from different specialists. Another example of this 'exchange' is the collabora tion between different artists.
