letter to be written to Our privie councill in Scotland, re-
quyreing them to make publict intimation of this Our royall
pleasure, that the staple-court be fullie setled at Campheer,
and that the antient standing acts of Parliament in favour
of the staple-court and Conservator be all deolaired to be in
full force; and further Wee ordaine the Royall Burrows in
their meettings to make strict ordors, that the staple may be
duely observed, which Wee declare shall be binding to all
Our subjects whatsomevir, tradeing in forraigne commerce,
and also to make a table of the Conservators dewes upon all
exportable goods from Our kingdom of Scotlandsuteable to
luis office and employment in Our service. Given at Our court
at Whytliall the 2d July 1676 and of Our reign the 28th yeare.

2. Stapelcontract van 1697.
1. i) Eerstelijck dat tot het onderhouden en preserveren
van de nauwe alliantie en vrientschap, welcke door Godts
voorsienigheyt gemaeckt is tusschen Sijn hoogstgedachte Ma-
jesteyt van Groot-Brittangie ende de Heeren Staten-Generael
der Yereenigde Nederlanden, ende tot het langh genot der
vrughten van soo een geluckige vrede de achtbare magistraet
van dese stadt in alle dingen, in haer macht sijnde, op alle
occasiën sullen ernstelijck geven een oprecht en reëel bewijs
van hare ware genegentheyt tot Sijn Konincklijke Majesteyts
persoonauthoriteyt en gouvernement ende van hare stand
vastige inclinatie tot den welstant en vreedsaemheyt van Sijn
Majesteyts koninckrijcken en heerschappiën ende in het bysonder
tot Sijn Majesteyts koninckrijck van Schotlant; ende om sulcx
te doen blijcken sal gemelde magistraet, sooverre in haer
macht isstoppen en verhinderen het koopen en vercoopen van
alderhande ammunitie van oorlogh, wapenen, offensijff en de-
